Incorporation of Robotunits GmbH in Austria. Having used traditional aluminum extrusion systems over many years, Robotunits engineers saw the need to develop a new extrusion & fastening technology that allowed them to build their production equipment faster, more flexible and with higher structural rigidity. In 1994 this Modular Automation System was introduced to the market, including conveyors, linear motion systems, safety fencing based on our own extrusion system.
In the same year the Robotunits Team wins the “Vorarlberg Innovation Award” for the development of the Modular Automation System. -
Robotunits wins the “Innovation Award” for the development of the world’s first play-free & self-aligning fastening technology in the automation industry.

Heron Innovations Factory
The Heron Innovations Factory is the foundation of our constant desire to innovate. According to our product philosophy, the design of the company building follows a modular design. This leads to open and modern work areas which help us to react flexibly and quickly to changes in our work environment. The result is open and direct communication among our employees, a flat hierarchy from the apprentice to the CEO. Open, innovative & quick, like a startup company.
The Innovations Factory should be an active & lively work environment. A place to generate new ideas & innovations. It is our goal to welcome customers with a current project and allow them to see the entire range of innovations and latest technologies in real-time. For example, Servus Transport Robots connect the entire company logistics, production and commissioning. Every department, from parts receiving to shipping, is connected through Servus to allow our employees to concentrate on value-add activities as much as possible.
With the Innovations Factory we want to show the future implications of a connected organization in the age of Industry 4.0 and lean culture on our employees and organizations.

Customized AGV attachments with a maximum of possibilities
The application possibilities of AGV attachments are as diverse as the needs of our customers. With the multifunctional Modular Automation System from Robotunits, AGV attachments can be easily configured and attached to existing mounting points of AGVs.

The Standard Linear Motion Unit for individual needs
Our Linear Motion Units can be integrated into the entire Robotunits Modular Automation System. A specially developed aluminum extrusion allows the belt to run back within the profile, leaving three freely accessible T-slots for attachments. The linear motion unit can also be a frame construction at the same time. This keeps our system simple and flexible.

Roller Conveyor SystemNovelty
The LATEST member of our modular automation kit: the roller conveyor system consists of 24V powered conveyors that master all transportation tasks efficiently. Our roller conveyor system is ideal for zero pressure transport of bulk material and general cargo.

The new Robotunits inserter
Simple, fast, flexible – that’s how assembly works with the products from Robotunits. And now it’s even simpler, faster and more flexible, as our new inserter saves valuable assembly time while being extremely easy to use: The bar magnets embedded in the inserter allow one-handed insertion and removal of drop-in nuts. This means everything remains in the right place even when assembling from above. The new design of our inserter reduces movement and thus improves the handling of the drop-in nuts. A flattened surface prevents it rolling away. The ergonomic handling simplifies exact positioning. Ingeniously simple - or perhaps simply ingenious?!
